what's up?
- The Island had its first fundraising event! Bowling was a blast, and congratulations to David for his triumphant, chocolatey win.
- The Vancouver Island Regional Committee has been selected! Congratulations to the new directors!
- The first solicitations event (for Auction!) is happening February 6th - email Ryder to RSVP and see how you can get involved.
- The plans for Vancouver Island Youth Parliament (VIYP) are in the works. Email Susie to see how you can help out.
- The Island side of the cabinet meeting is taking place at the University of Victoria. Email Sasa for location and details!
The Island region encompasses Vancouver Island and all Northern and Gulf Islands, and is home to British Columbia's gorgeous capital city of Victoria. Historic sites, beaches, cultural events, and natural trails and formations mark the beauty and uniqueness of the region, something which the BC Youth Parliament has worked to protect through activities such as beach clean ups, and volunteering at community events such as Jazz Festivals. Service projects, fundraisers, as well as social event are held throughout the region by young parliamentarians, and they are as varied as they are numerous. Whether assisting with our annual fundraising project by soliciting auction items, volunteering at a local soup kitchen, or going to improv shows or dinners, young parliamentarians can be spotted around the region, enthusiastically serving the community and enjoying their time together.
